2010 SEASON

SPOON RIVER ANTHOLOGY

By Edgar Lee Masters

March 27

A concert of the spoken word and live music

The late residents of the Village of Spoon River, Illinois speak to us from beyond the grave in a collection of epitaphs, each of which is actually a wonderful short poem that speaks much about those upon whose tombstones they appear.  This classic theatre piece is presented by the ITAC acting ensemble and is accompanied by wonderful live folk musicians.  This fundraising event will be presented for a limited run of only two performances.

SOUTHERN COMFORTS
By Kathleen Clark
May 7-30

“…utterly charming, sweet, old-fashioned” comedy"

Some people need continuous change in order to feel vital and alive. Others are terrified of unsettling the peace that they have established. Meg Merckens and Robert Gardner team up once again for this tour-de-force journey of a widow and widower who meet later in life and find a way into each other's hearts.

Join her and “your fellow” graduates of old Highland High for the annual “All-School Reunion.”  The fun begins with a great meal (including starters, salad, entrée, and dessert) and continues through an evening of comedy, lively musical performances, and just a little bit of mystery.  “The nearest thing to a real All-School Reunion except it’s a whole lot funnier.”

Conceived and written by Thomas P. Johnson
November 12 – December 5

A Hot Musical Comedy

Come on down and “wind the hose” with the members of the Harrison Volunteer Fire Department.  Meet eight of the regulars who pretty much do it all.   They hold bake sales and fish frys, wash the trucks, give rides to kids, and bring Santa to town on the big red pumper at Christmas time.  Oh yes, they also go to the infrequent fire calls in rural Harrison, but it’s a small town and has very few fires.  “They sing, they dance, they put out fires.”
